The East and The West

In this blog, I write about my experiences as a transplant originally from India and now more recently from the East coast of the U.S. The title of my blog plays on the meanings of the words “east” and “west,” as being relative to where you are in the world. While any transitions are immensely difficult, I have found that they are also fertile grounds for deeper and richer understanding of the self and others. I use this space to document some of my thoughts on being an immigrant, being from the East coast and even what it means to just be from the East side. But more importantly, I hope that my stories and my ideas on being a “East-West Blend” will inspire a dialog with the community about what it means to our identities and our psyches to be in a world where more and more the borderlands reside in the heart rather than on a map.
